How to Apply

Before applying please note that MCC does not have on campus housing options and has very limited job availability for F-1 students.

International Student Services (ISS) welcomes applications from prospective F-1 students. The directions below outline the admissions process.

Directions to Create an Account

  1. Create an account as a F-1 international student at mccneb.elluciancrmrecruit.com.
  2. Click on "Create an account!”.
  3. Under “Student Type”, select “International Student”.
  4. Under “International Student Type”, select the type that fits your situation:
    • “Change of status to F-1 Student”
    • “Prospective F-1 student outside the US"
    • “Transfer F-1 Student”
  5. Log into your “MCC Account”
  6. Anticipated Start term (Ex: Fall 2024)
  7. Academic Focus Area of interest: (EX: English as a Second Language, Health Professions)
  8. Create a password and create the account

Directions to Submit an Online Application

  1. Select “New application”
  2. Scroll down select “F-1 international applicant/application”
  3. Begin the application
  4. Under “Student Type”, select “International Student”.
  5. Under “International Student Type”, select the type that fits your situation:
    • “Change of status to F-1 Student”
    • “Prospective F-1 student outside the US"
    • “Transfer F-1 Student”
  6. Submit the online application for review
  7. After you submit an online application you will receive an email with instructions on how to take our free ESL Accuplacer Proficiency Test

  • Option 1: Please follow the instructions to set up an appointment with our testing center to take the ESL Accuplacer Test. If you are not in the Omaha area the Testing Center can monitor your test through video conferencing, such as Zoom.
  • Option 2: iBT TOEFL score sheet dated within two years. Please email the official score sheet ordered from ETS to iss@mccneb.edu using our college code: 9621. We do not accept unofficial copies.

  • Option 1: An official U.S. college transcript showing a college level English class (English Comp 1). Your grade must be a "C" or higher. The transcript must be sent directly from your College, Parchment, or the National Clearing House to iss@mccneb.edu.
  • Option 2: ACT/SAT score dated within two years. Please order them from the official ACT/SAT website and email to iss@mccneb.edu.
  • Option 3: Please take the ESL Accuplacer Test if you are currently in an Intensive English Learning Program or if you cannot provide ACT/SAT/Transcript with English Composition with a grade of "C" or higher.

If you have transfer credits from another college please read through Course Equivalency, Transferring Credit to MCC.

After your scores have been evaluated, ISS will email you with next steps. If you score into credit ESL or higher you will receive a conditional acceptance email inviting you to submit supplemental items.

Required supplemental items vary depending on the application type, however, all students will be required to submit the following two documents:

We do not accept late applications. All supplemental items and English Proficiency must be reviewed and met on your application by the deadline of each quarter. Please review our application deadlines carefully for each quarter. If your application is not fully completed by the last day of the deadline you will be directed to apply for the next quarter and your application will be withdrawn.
