Visiting F-1 Students
Do you want to take an MCC class and not transfer out of your current institution?
Metropolitan Community College welcomes you as a transient/visiting (not a transfer) F-1 student to apply take MCC classes while you remain a student at your current institution. Letters from DSOs/International Advisors are no longer required, and you will not need to go through MCC’s International Student Services for registration. Below are the steps to follow:
- Create an account as a visiting F-1 international student at https://mccneb.elluciancrmrecruit.com/Apply/.
- Click on "Not registered yet? Create an account!” toward the bottom.
- Under “Student Type," select “International Student.”
- Under “International Student Type,” select “Transient/Visiting F-1 Student.”
- After you finish creating an account, you will get an email from Enrollment Services with directions on how to complete a free application.
- Complete the application online.
- If the course you wish to take has a prerequisite, then you will need to upload your unofficial transcript in the “Supplemental Items List.” If you have not taken the prerequisite, then you may need to take our free Accuplacer test for English and math courses or take the prerequisite course.
- You will get another email that gives you the next steps to get registered for classes. A staff member may need to review your transcripts or Accuplacer scores before registering you in the class. Please ask the Contact Center to provide you with your MCC student number. If you need to take the Accuplacer, you will need this number when contacting the Testing Center.
- You will be able to set up your password the next day. To do so, visit Password Reset.
- After you create your password, access the Student Self Service.
- You will have access to your schedule under My Services for Students > Academic Profile.
- Purchase any necessary books or supplies for your class. You may explore Book Exchange at Textbook Exchange, a site where students post books for sale.
NOTE: It is your responsibility to drop classes. Non-attendance or non-payment do not relieve you from your financial obligation.
