EXPLORE BIOTECHNOLOGY - FALL 2026

Omaha-area biotechnology and biorefinery employers have expressed a need for entry-level technicians with biotechnology skills relevant to their biomanufacturing processes. Metropolitan Community College is addressing this through a new biotechnology training program with key objectives:

  • Develop credit and noncredit training for technician jobs.
  • Build an industry-reflective lab training space.
  • Provide professional development in biotechnology for MCC science faculty to enhance current courses.
  • Launch a biotechnology awareness/recruitment campaign, including summer camps for students, training for K-12 teachers, and a high school academy.
