Supportive measures may be available to complainants and respondents, whether or not a formal complaint is filed or a grievance process begins. They are individualized, non-disciplinary, non-punitive services offered as appropriate and reasonably available, without fee or charge, to restore or preserve equal access, protect safety, or deter sexual harassment without unreasonably burdening the other party. Contact the Title IX Coordinator to discuss your needs.
Possible Supportive Measures
- Counseling or advocacy referrals
- Extensions of deadlines or other course-related adjustments
- Changes to class, work, or activity schedules
- Campus escort services
- Mutual restrictions on contact between parties
- Changes in work or educational locations
- Leaves of absence
- Increased security or monitoring of certain areas
- Other appropriate measures based on individual circumstances
To request supportive measures, contact the Title IX Coordinator at 531-622-2202 or jlangholdt@mccneb.edu. Explain the impact on your education, work, or safety and any assistance you are requesting. If an approved measure is unavailable, ineffective, or not being implemented, contact the Title IX Coordinator promptly.
Privacy and Confidentiality
MCC protects information related to reports and complaints as required by law and College procedure. Information may be shared with officials who need it to carry out institutional responsibilities or as otherwise permitted or required by law. MCC maintains the confidentiality of supportive measures to the extent that doing so does not impair implementation. Public Clery statistics do not identify victims.
A Title IX Coordinator is not a confidential resource. If you want to speak with someone who can generally maintain confidentiality, consider contacting a confidential community advocacy or health-care resource.
Before sharing sensitive information with a community provider, ask about its confidentiality practices and exceptions. Advocacy, shelter intake, and medical services may have different confidentiality rules.
