Our roadmap for a more sustainable campus, classroom, and community
The MCC Sustainability Master Plan (2021–2026) establishes seven goals spanning energy efficiency, waste reduction, academics, grounds, engagement, equity and transportation — setting a clear direction for how the College operates and teaches. Developed through a series of College-wide workshops and benchmarked against AASHE STARS guidance, the plan reflects our institutional priorities and national standards for sustainability in higher education.

Connection to MCC Planning
The Sustainability Plan is one of several integrated plans within Onward: Future MCC, our multi-year planning framework for facilities and operational strategy. The goals in the Sustainability Plan both inform and are informed by these related efforts.
- Planning Themes — Stewardship and Sustainability of Resources are one of six MCC planning themes, committing the College to improving operations and strengthening infrastructure in support of sustainable practices.
- Facilities Long-Range Plan — The long-range vision for our physical campuses and locations closely relate to sustainability goals for energy, grounds and transportation.
