About EKG Technician Program

The MCC EKG Technician Course is an in-person, instructor-led program that prepares participants to perform essential tasks in cardiac monitoring and diagnostic testing. Students will gain hands-on experience with EKG equipment and learn to conduct 12-lead EKGs, set up Holter monitors, assist with stress tests, and accurately record and interpret test results.

Upon completion, participants will be fully prepared to sit for the National Certified EKG Technician (NCET) certification exam through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) and begin working in hospitals, outpatient clinics, and other healthcare settings.

Certification Pathway & Registration

Six-week, in-person course.

The EKG Technician Course includes class sessions that meet in-person once per week for six weeks. Each class session is scheduled for 7 hours. The course prepares participants to sit for the National Certified EKG Technician (NCET) exam administered by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

To register, enroll online. After enrollment, a Metropolitan Community College associate will provide further instructions.

Cost

The cost for the EKG Technician Course is $2,265, which includes all coursework. The NCET exam fee is paid separately to the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

Eligibility

There are no formal prerequisites to enroll in the EKG Technician Course. The course is designed for individuals looking to enter the healthcare field or current healthcare professionals seeking to expand their skill set.
