Student Food Insecurity Fund
Recognizing the significant levels of food insecurity and lack of basic living essentials that exists among MCC students and program participants, the fund will assist in a coordinated response to address and reduce MCC student and program participant hunger, with an ultimate goal of increasing participation, learning, persistence, and retention. This fund is intended to support student food insecurity needs and basic living essentials. The fund is also intended for support of basic food need partnership activities, support of current college efforts to reduce hunger on campus that include support for packaging and food and products distribution, marketing and promotion, and general operational needs. The fund could also support evaluation methods to determine effectiveness. Currently funds from this are being used for the student salad initiative. This fund is NOT a student support or scholarship fund; hence, no direct payments will be made to students or their accounts. Rather, any student benefit would be part of a group activity or award system.
