Certified Forklift Operator
Overview
- Forklift operators require OSHA-mandated formal training, and this class complies with OSHA 29 CFR1910.178 requirements.
- Course covers pre-start inspections, operating limitations, steering and maneuvering, vehicle capacity and stability.
- Also includes training on operating surfaces, narrow aisles, pedestrian traffic, hazardous locations, and ramps.
- Prepares students for roles typically involving tasks such as loading and unloading goods, organizing warehouse spaces, and ensuring safe handling of materials using forklifts.
- Course includes, 3 hours of classroom instruction, certification exam, and hands-on experience driving a forklift.
Types of Jobs: Forklift Operator, Warehouse Associate; Material Handler; Shipping and Receiving Clerk; Inventory Control Specialist; Freight Handler; Logistics Coordinator.
Prerequisite: Good Visual Acuity, 18 years old, adhere to Physical Standards, read and write English.
Time Requirement to Complete Credential: 6 hours, including 3 hours of classroom instruction and then hands-on driving experience and certification exam.

About OSHA Forklift Operator Training
Participants will learn to maneuver the forklift through an obstacle course including performance of basic lift movements, all under the supervision of a certified trainer operator. This course meets the OSHA classroom training requirements. Upon successful demonstration of OSHA safety and compliance standards, participants receive a certificate of completion.
