FAA Drone Pilot Certification
Overview
- MCC Drone Flight School includes 3 in-person courses and online learning content.
- Drone 1: Learn best practices to successfully fly a drone, including basic rules and regulations, and prepare to pass the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) certificate.
- Drone 2: Get hands-on practice: how to pick a safe area, how to complete a preflight inspection, how to take off, maneuver, and land while flying through an obstacle course.
- FAA Drone Pilot Certification: in-depth training to prepare for the FAA Part 107 exam (required by the FAA for anyone operating a drone).
Types of Jobs: Drone technology is applicable in many fields such as agriculture/farming, film/photography, utilities/energy, construction, insurance, public safety/fire/police/rescue, warehousing, real estate.
Prerequisite: age 16+ and be able to read and speak English
Time Requirement to Complete Credential: 22 hours of classroom instruction.

About the MCC Drone Flight School
Who is the MCC Drone Flight School for?
Individuals who aspire to operate drones commercially for applications related to agriculture, film or photography, surveying, inspections, weather forecasting, utilities or energy, construction, defense, insurance, mining, forestry, public safety, warehousing, distribution, or real estate. Also, for recreational applications including photo and video, wildlife viewing, hunting or sports, racing, gaming or as a hobby.
Certification Pathway & Registration
Three-unit program over four days, in person.
MCC Drone Flight School - prepares participants with a solid base in drone flight concepts including safety and compliance, plus flight training and preparation to become FAA certified.

$265 Drone Pilot 3: FAA Drone Pilot Certification
Prices include all class materials and access to test drones. Does not include license exam fee.
Eligibility
Drone Pilot 1 and 2 courses have no eligibility criteria.
Drone Pilot 3 requires participants to be 16 years of age or older and be able to read and speak English to take the certification exam.
