Overview

This bootcamp-style workshop teaches participants best practices for both synchronous and asynchronous learning and provides active, practical experiences to achieve core instructional design competencies, as well as theory—the "why" behind the action.

Through hands-on activities, interactive assignments, projects, and expert coaching and feedback, participants create learning artifacts that can be added to an instructional design portfolio. Upon completion, participants receive an MCC digital badge as evidence of their skill.

Who is the MCC Instructional Design Bootcamp for?

Individuals who aspire to or currently work in education including: instructors, trainers, human resource professionals, K-12 teachers and organizational development practitioners.

Eligibility

Eligible participants must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements & Accommodations
To be successful in the MCC Instructional Design Bootcamp, participants must be able to meet the following sensory and physical standards:

Ability to use senses 
  • Visual acuity to identify, read, and understand directions in English on equipment and other documents required in care such as laboratory procedures and administering medications, sharps, or equipment
  • Ability to distinguish distance, colors, objects, and persons 
  • Ability to hear sounds and warning signals in training facility, which could lead to an emergency situation requiring some type of proactive or reactive response 
  • Ability to detect and tolerate smells that may unpleasant or indicate a possible danger
Physical ability 
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk continually
  • Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch frequently 
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds 
  • Close vision required to see computer monitor, read documents, and operate copy and fax machine 
  • Work environment is indoors and climate controlled. Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions
