Overview

  • This course prepares students to meet the requirements of the Nebraska Medication Aide Act.
  • It includes information regarding medication administration, pharmacology, state rules and regulations, classification of drugs, and documentation of drug administration.
  • The course focuses on the responsibilities of the medication aide in an assisted-living facility or a skilled-care nursing facility.

Types of Jobs: Medication Aide

Prerequisite: 18 years of age by end of course

Post Completion Credit Equate: 5 quarter credits (HLTH 1300)

Time Requirement to Complete Credential: 50 hours of classroom instruction
