Supportive Measures and Resources

Supportive measures may be available to complainants and respondents, whether or not a formal complaint is filed or a grievance process begins. They are individualized, non-disciplinary, non-punitive services offered as appropriate and reasonably available, without fee or charge, to restore or preserve equal access, protect safety, or deter sexual harassment without unreasonably burdening the other party. Contact the Title IX Coordinator to discuss your needs.

Possible Supportive Measures

  • Counseling or advocacy referrals
  • Extensions of deadlines or other course-related adjustments
  • Changes to class, work, or activity schedules
  • Campus escort services
  • Mutual restrictions on contact between parties
  • Changes in work or educational locations
  • Leaves of absence
  • Increased security or monitoring of certain areas
  • Other appropriate measures based on individual circumstances

To request supportive measures, contact the Title IX Coordinator at 531-622-2202 or jlangholdt@mccneb.edu. Explain the impact on your education, work, or safety and any assistance you are requesting. If an approved measure is unavailable, ineffective, or not being implemented, contact the Title IX Coordinator promptly.

Supportive Measures

MCC can take immediate steps to protect you and to ensure your safety and well-being, as well as that of the campus community. Supportive measures depend largely on the incident at issue and are determined by the college on a case-by-case basis.

You do not need to make a formal report to the College to request supportive measures. Contact a Title IX Coordinator to discuss supportive measures that can be offered to you.
